"I have loved to draw and paint from a young age. Art became my passion during my teenage years, where I participated in school art competitions, exhibitions and sold my paintings.

I took a break from my art while I raised my family. In 2007, I returned to my art due to moving to LA. While in LA, I had many opportunities to take part in different art classes and refresh my drawing skills.

When I returned to Sydney I continued with my art classes and gradually added watercolour and acrylic to my painting techniques.

In March 2014, my still life painting was highly commended at Castle Hill Agricultural Society’s Art Exhibition. I regularly participate in local art exhibitions and art workshops. My artwork “The Outback” came First Place in The Gaslight Tea and Coffee Shoppe Award in Small Paintings at the 2015 Castle Hill Art’s Show. My artwork “Blue Lake” was also Very Highly Commended in the same exhibition.

I am constantly preparing myself for upcoming exhibitions and markets.

Simone creates the Australian landscape using combination of gouache, ink, watercolour and rock salt.

"My passion for art started at a young age and I have been very fortunate to be able to pursue my practice as well as develop and encourage the next generation of artists through my professional career as a high school Visual Arts teacher.

My love of colour, pattern and detail inspires me to paint a whimsical journey through the vast Australian landscape, capturing an abstracted view from places I have been or endeavour to explore.

I am highly influenced by John Olsen and the deep engagement he has with the Australian landscape and his abstracted view and reflection of our ever-changing space.

The medium I use is a combination of gouache, ink, watercolour and rock salt. I am intrigued by the way the inks react to the salts as I allow the inks to run in an uncontrolled way to create the structure of my works. Intricate detail and pattern is then applied to capture the feeling I get from a particular place." Simone Read

Shazia specialises in figurative art, sculptures and urban paintings. She has exhibited her work internationally and her work hangs in private collections in Australia, USA, and UK.

Working in watercolours, acrylics and mixed media, Shazia's recent work explores the infinite expressiveness of the subjects.

"Art and design is something I’m very passionate about. Use of colour, shape, texture and light defines my style in capturing the personality and emotions of the subject.

Life study is a focus in most of my sculptures and paintings. I also enjoy painting urban scenes.

I love the spontaneity of watercolours. I’ve worked with all traditional and new media but I predominantly work in watercolours. Although I don’t want to limit myself with any certain style or technique, I enjoy all mediums and techniques."

Nicholas Broughton

Artists are often obsessive about their particular discipline and none more so than Nicholas Broughton who considers a day without painting or sculpting to be incomplete as he is a self-confessed “addict to the canvas”.

A fascination with the human condition and a childhood passion for painting and sculpture have crystallised in him resulting in a desire to paint pictures that are honest expressions of his inner feelings and personal experiences – “from the heart”.
