ART ON THE ROCKS
Australian Art & Design (AAD) Gallery was an artist collective founded in 2015, well known for promoting original and unique works by local Sydney artists. Presently an esteemed commercial gallery as of 2020, AAD Gallery is situated in the same building as Harbour Rocks Hotel. This prestigious building is located at the iconic Nurses Walk at the Rocks, Sydney NSW. The heritage building accommodating the AAD Gallery dates back to 1887, serving as a monument and a symbol of prosperity for the beautiful urban city. The hotel has preserved its original structure and glory whilst providing five-star modern accommodation.
AAD Gallery has organised a suite of interactive art programs in the space situated at iconic and historical precinct of The Rocks as part of the 'ART ON THE ROCKS' project. The main objective of the program was to educate, promote and assist visual and performing artists.
The purpose of these events is to revive and restore the collaborative network of Sydney's artist community and access to promotional platforms and income-generating opportunities. All these events will aim at transferring knowledge of skills and techniques as well as practical business sessions to assist with pricing, promotion and intellectual property.
