Sydney-based artist Rayan Sandhu, is an emerging artist that specialises in abstract multimedia works. Born in Australia he faced learning difficulties from an early age with communication and self-expression being a definitive struggle throughout his development, generating a need to disassociate and restrict himself in a box-like state. Using art to evoke his passions and emotions, his recent series is a sentiment to these ideas.
The series encompasses a metaphorical body of work that incorporates geometric forms in a controlled, abstract composition using a combination of acrylic paint, charcoal and oil pastels. As an emerging artist, Rayan aims to use art as a form of language and self-expression that extends beyond his disability in hopes of connecting with a greater audience regarding his practice and background.
