Leanne Hamilton-Kinnear
South-Australian artist Leanne works primarily with copper, steel and recycled metals, creating sculptural pieces and wall hangings hand cut through traditional metalworking techniques. She uses both Oxy-Acetylene welding and brazing, as well as MIG Welding and Plasma cutting to form each of her unique, distinct pieces. Her works are sustainable, gathering parts in second-hand stores and metal recyclers to form her subjects inspired by Australian natural life including flowers and animals. The term Verdigris Metalwork derives from the ‘patina or ‘verdigris’ that develops on copper, naturally forming the vibrant green hues evident in her works.
