Alexandra Yung
Alexandra is a Hong Kong based artist that incorporates elements of spirituality into her abstract pieces. Using her experience as a certified Sekhem energy master, she utilises her understanding of energy to create textured, mixed media works. The layers are infused with sand, clay and other natural minerals, as well as segments of pure essential oils that instil relative energy frequencies into each painting. Mixed with paint, the organic materials permeate through the work, resulting in a tranquil and meditative piece suitable for any space. While primarily working with ideas of healing mandala art, her current practice ventures beyond the confines of structured mandalas and embraces the tactile nature of oils on canvas. As a result, the dynamic essences of healing energies explored through her works are depicted in motion while becoming an expression for unseen forces and precedents.
Born in Scotland, educated in Hong Kong, Europe, and the United States, Alexandra is a true global citizen. With a degree in Art from California Institute of the Arts, Alexandra launched her career in Los Angeles before moving to Hong Kong.
For over a decade, Alexandra was the chairman of The Entrepreneurs Club in Hong Kong, a past board member for HKABPW – Hong Kong Association for Business and Professional Women, a current board member of an Art collecting alumni group and currently plays a leadership role in United Success Global, an exclusive NGO that inspires and supports female entrepreneurs around the world.
