Aizah
Sydney based artist, Aizah, utilises external influences of her respective natural environment to develop impressionist and abstract pieces of Australian flora. Specialising in multiple painting mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolour and pastels, her works engage with ideas of flourishing and vigour through heavily textured approaches on a distinctly, vibrant colour scheme that plays with cool and warm undertones to effectively highlight these motifs.
Her latest body of work emerged as a response to the 2020 bush fires in NSW, a severe event that destroyed several kinds of Australian fauna and flora within 191,000 hectares of land for the course of 79 days. Her response focuses on the celebration of the rebirth of organic forms and processes in an attempt to visualise a sense of hope through notions of time and perseverance.
“I am inspired by texture, colour, shapes and movement. My inspirations come from everyday life, an assortment of nature, people and places.
Experimenting with different mediums, acrylic paint, watercolour and pastels through the use of bright colours, I manage to let go of all the forms that lead to creating a unique perspective onto the canvas or paper.”
