Hannah Goggs celebrates her local wildlife through mixed media methods, capturing a vivid and theatrical display of Australian birds and plants in a still life setting. With a background in horticulture, her knowledge and understanding of unique plants inspires the subjects in her practice. As kookaburras and magpies chatter whilst perched among banksias and wattles, Goggs playfully includes details of objects found in the home - jars of mustard, jams and teacups. The birds are seen moving in and out of frame, highlighting the playful nature of her works surrounding her picturesque still life subjects. Her works create joyful stories, formed with tactile applications of paint and a warm yet gentle colour palette.

The frame is approximately 1cm and there is an approximate 0.5cm gap between the frame and the canvas to give the shadow line effect.
