Based in Melbourne, Latimer holds a BFA in Sculpture and Painting from Curtin University (2019). Her work has been recognised through selection as a finalist in multiple prestigious art prizes and is held in private and public collections internationally. Through an expanded approach to paint, her practice contributes to ongoing discourse around material transformation, process-driven making, and the evolving boundaries of contemporary art.

"By transforming paint into a physical material, I weave it into tactile works that fuse painting, sculpture, and textile. Rooted in themes of migration, change, and renewal, my work captures the shifting nature of place and belonging.

My practice reconfigures paint as a flexible medium rather than a purely optical surface. Through a labour-intensive process of pouring, drying, cutting, and assembling, paint is transformed into pliable strands that are woven, layered, and structured into dense compositions.

Informed by lived experiences of repeated relocation my work reflects the instability and recalibration of identity that accompanies movement across places. Rhythms of disruption, rupture, and reassembly are embedded within the woven forms, echoing patterns of connection, loss, and continuity. The resulting works suggest both fragility and resilience, holding tension between control and collapse."
