Sydney-based artist, Aizah, draws inspiration from Australian landscapes, translating the colour, movement and organic forms of native flora into vibrant impressionistic and abstract paintings. Working primarily in acrylic, she explores the expressive potential of texture, gestural mark-making and layered colour to create works that evoke the energy and vitality of the natural world.

Aizah's practice is particularly focused on themes of growth, renewal and resilience. Her ongoing body of work emerged as a response to the 2020 bush fires in NSW, a devastating event that destroyed several kinds of Australian fauna and flora within 191,000 hectares of land for the course of 79 days. Her response celebrates the rebirth of plant life, attempting to visualise a sense of growth and perseverance. 

“I am inspired by texture, colour, shapes and movement. My inspirations come from everyday life, an assortment of nature, people and places." Through this approach, Aizah invites viewers to experience the landscape not simply as a subject, but as an emotional and sensory environment.
