Artist
Aizah
Sydney-based artist, Aizah, uses her natural environment to develop impressionist and abstract pieces depicting Australian flora.
Practicing with acrylic painting techniques, her works engage with ideas of flourish and blooming through dynamic, textured paint applications and vibrant colour schemes.
Her latest body of work emerged as a response to the 2020 bush fires in NSW, a devastating event that destroyed several kinds of Australian fauna and flora within 191,000 hectares of land for the course of 79 days. Her response focuses on the celebration of the rebirth of plant life, attempting to visualise a sense of growth and perseverance.
“I am inspired by texture, colour, shapes and movement. My inspirations come from everyday life, an assortment of nature, people and places."
